Episode 060: Chris Caffery – Musician and Hunter

In this episode, I catch up with Chris Caffery (http://chriscaffery.com). Chris is a famous musician, playing guitar for the band Savatage (http://www.savatage.com) and one of the founding members of Tran-Siberian Orchestra (http://www.trans-siberian.com/index/home). Not only is Chris a master at the guitar, you will also find him using his bow and crossbow out in the field hunting for whitetail and turkey in his New York home. Chris also likes to fish for the various types of fish found in the waters of New York state.

Bowhunters Of America is the largest hunting group on Facebook. It is family friendly with adults and children posting in the group. The group is managed to make sure that everyone is respectful to each other and any of their legally harvested animals.

While the site focuses on bow hunting, it is an inclusive group and you can post/discuss any legally harvest animal taken by any means.

Episode 056: Justin Ragazzine – Big Game Hunter

In this episode, I interview Justin Ragazzine. Justin is the youngest person to have completed the Super Slam of North America. This involves taking 29 different big game animals and recording the hunts with OVIS (slamquest.org). This is a huge accomplishment in the world of hunting and Justin details it in his book  Against All Odds (My Quest for the North American Super Slam). Episode 051: Mike Defibaugh – Professional Fisherman

In the episode I get to interview Mike Defibaugh who is a Professional Walleye Angler. This was Mike’s first year fishing as a pro in the Cabela’s National Walleye Tour (http://www.nationalwalleyetour.com) after years of fishing as a semi-pro. Mike had an impressive finish to win the first stop on Lake Erie  in the 2017 NWT and take home $61,000 in prize’s and money. Mike donated his cash winnings this year to Make a Wish (http://www.wish.org), and that amounted to $15,000 for just this tournament.
